This morning my mom and I ventured to the weekly Sunday flea market near us. It's been a while since we've gone so I wasn't sure what to expect. I usually look for books because I can locate cool editions or out of print ones. Instead of finding obscure books I found a ton of Breyers instead. I have a love/hate relationship with finding Breyers because some believe as long as it has the Breyer stamp it's worth a million dollars. No matter if the model has three legs or if it's covered in bird poop.
Today however I scored all of these models for 4$.
I was excited about the stablemates since they'll become bodies. I couldn't leave this guy though. Beaten up he is, but I'll find something to use him for!

A Horse Filled Saturday
Last week I was asked if I would be interested in helping at a pony ride in Middletown. I said yes, so that's what I did this morning. The pony ride was one of many activities offered to kids who brought their report cards with them. The big draw was the giving away of mountain bikes, but kids still meandered over to ride one of the two horses brought. I was in charge of the cute pony named Sweet Pea The other horse was a QH named Dolly. It was the first time for some of the kids to sit on a horse so Sweet Pea did a great job being gentle.
After the pony ride I rode back with the rest of the group and we saddled up other horses and went on a trail ride. The farm has nice trails and it was beautiful out today. I rode a QH mare named Lady. We had a few moments of can we not have a bucking fit right this second, but other than that she was a good mount.

In The Studio
It feels like it's been forever since I actually finished a project. Which it has been but anyway---
I have a commission bridle that is almost done. It needs the other rein braided and a separate set done too. I bought Rio Rondo's new buckle set and love it! The chin strap needs a bit of shaping and shortening. Then it'll be finished.
I also have my Feather Fund donation almost done. It's a portrait of Surfer Dude, the well known Assateague island stallion that died last year. Last year my plan had been to use Croi but I sorta screwed it up (but it'd make a good base for a fantasy model so there's that...).
So that's where my studio is right now.

Belated Father's Day
The person in my life who started my interest in photography was my mom. The past weekend she’s been going through her tubs of photos and attempting to organize them. Some are from her college years but a huge amount are from my sister and I growing up. It’s been fun going back and seeing things.

I have no idea where I'm looking but A+ for effort. |
Sprinkled throughout the pictures I’ve found plenty of me with a horse or on horses.
Since Sunday was Father’s Day here’s one with my dad, sister (the one on the pony), and me plus a pony. We were in Hilton Head, South Carolina.
Happy belated Father’s Day!
