2015 In Review

2015 went by much faster than 2014. Time flies by faster each year, even if day by day it feels like a drag at times. I was going to do a sappy post of things I learned and what 2016 holds and such, but ehh. I'll condense 140 something posts into one.
The year was filled with real horses
of different types and disciplines

and those of the plastic variety.

I went to six live shows. I judged at Bring On The Bling, and helped out at the Breyerfest C/Y show. It was a great showing year for me. I brought home two champions and 2 reserve champions.
I did make tack, and I feel like my english saddles and halters got better. Not perfect, but getting there!

I tried new things, and the one I'm most proud of is the Penn State Harrisburg Equestrian Club.  It encouraged me to ride more often plus I got to meet an awesome group of people.

In two showing weekends, I came home with a third, two fourths, and a fifth.
On the school front I changed my major and grades are going well. So yay for that. :)

I obtained my Girl Scout Gold Award and closed that chapter of my life. I also went on a cruise and went riding on a beach.

My reading goal of 2015 was to read 90 books. A random number? Probably. But after passing 90, I upped it to 100 and I met that number this morning. Final book of the year was My Dog Skip by Willie Morris.
Not the right book, but still, books!

Happy New Year and hopefully 2016 holds great things for everyone!

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to everyone!
Rue, after a large amount of wet food, was happy to be put into a large Santa hat.

Christmas Ponies

It's Christmas Eve's Eve! So here are some Christmas horses and ponies! At the cross country event, there was a costume contest and there was a variety of small and large-scale costumes. Enjoy!

The Only Thing Better Than A Unicorn Bridle....

The first horse event that I attended in 2015 featured a unicorn bridle.
It's funny that the last horse event of the year would include something unicorn related.
Yep. That's a unicorn ear bonnet. And pink hooves. And pink boots. And a pink and patterned saddle pad.
There was a loose horse, so everyone paused and that's when I saw the horse, the pink, and the unicorn ear bonnet.
After the loose horse was caught, unicorn horse and rider did their course. Look how cute everything is! Unicorn ear bonnets are awesome. And cute. I think it should be a thing in miniature.

Cross Country Jumps

On Saturday, one of the first things we did was course walk.

Well, Lizzie and Rachael course walked--I just looked at the jumps. Enjoy!

Donation Derby

I'm in the homestretch of my fall semester with my last two finals happening this week!
Lizzie asked me a while ago if I'd like to go to her first cross country show, so on Saturday, I went to the Donation Derby with Lizzie and fellow Penn State Equestrian member Rachael. Here are a couple of cross country photos from then!

Happy Thanksgiving!

I hope everyone (who celebrates it) has a nice Thanksgiving!
I'm so grateful for everything: Friends, family, and health. And I'm grateful to everyone who has read my blog, whether in passing or a dedicated reader. Love you all!
In other news, I haven't had any pain from my wisdom teeth so hello ham!
My contribution to the family feast was Banana Pudding using this recipe. Yum!
