I did it by rolling out pieces of apoxy and pushing it into the mane, and then cutting and shaping it with my exacto knife into triangle shapes.
Then I used my clay tools (end of a paint brush, pencil point) and textured in his mane. The underside will be sculpted once the top has hardened.
Nice! What's your technique for sculpting while keeping the mane flowing off the neck like that?
ReplyDeleteI'll photograph the process next time. But I'll try to explain it.
DeleteI sculpted the mane and using my exacto knife, I peeled it off of the neck and shaped it to be flowy, like the reference I used. I poked and shaped it with my exacto knife.
Thanks!
DeleteLooking great so far!
ReplyDeleteHe looks so good! What color are you planning on painting him?
ReplyDeleteThanks!
DeleteAnd I have no idea what color I want him to be. Once the sculpting is done, next comes prepping, and that's where I normally lose all of my steam. ;)
