Feel The Base.....

Bases. They're much needed for some props and models to give support and get you noticed in performance. Here's how I made the base for my endurance finish line.
I got my supplies out which include an exacto knife, glue, scenic basic diorama kit, and dirt, plus a piece of moss from the craft store.
I've already made the post from wood at the craft store.

First I got a piece of foam board and cut it down.

Then I cut the ends down at an angle.
Next I layer down glue and cover it with the mat of mossy stuff. I let  it dry, used spray glue and put fine dirt from outside on it.
Lastly I cut two holes in it and stick my posts in.
Vala that's how I did it!

Best Friends

The song, 'Best Friends' is one of my favorite songs from The Fox And The Hound. So today was another    hound dog day. After finishing about twenty pages in my math summer packet for school I feel accomplished...just need to finish my honors English and AP bio stuff..but that's for later. I wish summer stayed summer...not a chance to add in "stimulation" and "easy homework which equals tests when you come back" for the summer months..but anyways here's my new in-progress hound dog.
I wanted this one to be a male with a high set tail and a lowered head.
So again I marked,

chopped and filled in.

So here's my two foxhounds at the moment! They still need more, but they're coming along. I have some time before my next show so hopefully they'll be done by then!

The Fox and The Hound

Remember the 1981 Disney movie The Fox and The Hound? Well after getting 13 Breyer dalmatians at Breyerfest, I have decided to make myself a couple hound dogs. One day, I will buy myself a model fox.
But today is Hound day. I wanted this one to be standing with a lowered tail and a tilted head.
After opening up the bag, I examined the 'dally' for any mold issues.

Seeing none I heated up the tail with my heat gun and lowered it. I also sharpied where to cut.
Then the trusty dremel was brought out to do the work.
I stuffed the hole with foil,
And got to filling in the hole. She still needs some work done, but she's on her way to being my first Breyer foxhound!

Prop Day

After a couple of days to unwind from Breyerfest, I felt it was time to break out some of the goodies I bought in Kentucky.
First it was the goat..
I ripped off the beard and filled the hole in with apoxie.

I decided to paint it after my friend's goat, Cookie.
First coat,
After a little drying, blocked in the horn and hooves
Now Cookie the prop goat will dry for the night and hopefully I'll have a chance to do more to her tommorrow.

Breyerfest Open Show

On Friday, while walking around the park, we stopped by to see some of the open show.  I especially loved the customs and performance horses. We didn't stay long, but I did get some pictures! If any of these models are yours or you know who they belong to, comment and I'll add it in!

Been wanting to see what this model looked like in real life...It's awesome!
Another model, I've wanted to see in real life. Also looks amazing!

Breyerfest Booty

I did take home some models from Breyerfest, other than my prize models.

I got the surprise Flash, tobiano style.

The spotted cow, aka Cow Pig, came next ( once I unpack from the show, he'll have a picture),

A running resin cow,

a prepped Breyer goat,
A Pokerjoe I won during the Breyerfest youth show (also need to open him),
and THIRTEEN Breyer dalmatian from the Breyer store. $2.00? I couldn't help myself! Dremel and painting is planned for these guys.

Youth Prize Models

Here's some pics of the youth reserve, champion, and overall grand champion I took back at the hotel.  I won three glossies!
Here's the grand champ overall Padre,

Champion Highland Pony,

And the reserve champ, the Shetland Pony.

\
When I first heard what the prizes were, I thought I wouldn't like them. Seeing them in person, I must say, I like.

Breyerfest- Day 1

Today we started the trek to Breyerfest by leaving at 9. We first stopped for food then we were on the road for a couple of hours until stopping for gas.
We entered Maryland and stopped, taking a picture of the scenic view,

Kept driving,
Got to West Virginia,

Passed into Hurricane, West Virginia,
And the clouds began to roll in. Maybe Hurricane lives up to it's name? Stormy weather.
Lightning and thunder started, then rain poured out of the sky. It was chaotic, with a huge line of blinking cars.

After a couple more hours, we entered Kentucky,

And the stormy weather continued.
Now we're settled in the hotel.
Well, that's all for tonight! Tomorrow will be special runs and shopping!
